Big Hit confirms BTS Jungkook was in Itaewon with friends on April 25

Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that Jungkook of BTS was in Itaewon with friends on April 25.

The company essentially confirmed reports shared by Dispatch earlier today.

They said that while it is true that he was out in the nightlife area, he did not visit the bars/clubs that later became a source for the outbreak. After hearing news of the outbreak he voluntarily was tested and his results came back negative. They will not reveal more about the situation to respect their artist’s privacy.

Big Hit apologizes for not preventing this situation, and says Jungkook is also reflecting on his actions not following the nationwide social distancing effort.

April 25 was when the Korean government was still encouraging extreme social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Itaewon the following week became the source of a new cluster outbreak of the virus centering around clubs.
